Ramada Plaza Bangkok Maenam Riverside Hotel has generated a well-deserved reputation for quality of service and value for money with caring and attentive staff.

For more than 30 years, the owners of Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside Hotel had the vision to create a magnificent property on Charoen Krung Road catering for tourists, business travelers, and what was quickly becoming an important and potentially lucrative MICE market: conferences, exhibitions, product launches, major social events, and weddings.

Over time, this remarkable vision has evolved into one of Bangkok’s best-known and most popular five star hotels: Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside Hotel, which is now celebrating its 30th anniversary.

This hotel, boasting 525 rooms and suites, sits proudly on a large plot with extensive, fully functional river frontage and direct access from Charoen Krung Road. The well-appointed guestrooms and spacious suites vary from very comfortable Deluxe Rooms, Grand Deluxe Rooms and Plaza Suites to the themed Terrace Suites and the amazingly spacious Presidential Suite.

All 525 Thai-deco inspired rooms and suites are tastefully furnished and well equipped to meet the needs of today’s business and leisure travelers. Dedicated non-smoking floors as well as ‘special needs’ accessible guest rooms for the elderly and physically challenged are available.

The Deluxe Rooms (34sqm) and the Grand Deluxe Rooms (40sqm) overlook the river or the swimming pool. Each room is furnished with twin or king-sized beds, coffee table, work desk, minibar, complimentary coffee & tea, individually controlled air-conditioning and en suite bathroom with bathtub and separate shower.

The Plaza Suites are 52sqm in size with a choice of river or city skyline views. These suites are furnished with either twin or king-sized beds and the separate lounge area features a sofa, coffee table and work desk.

The Terrace Suites vary in floor space from 78sqm to 136sqm and are located on the Executive Club floors. Each suite’s private terrace opens up to panoramic views of the Chao Phraya River. The suites are furnished with twin or king-sized beds and a separate lounge area with a comfortable sofa and chairs, coffee table, dining table and work desk.

For the very special occasion, the hotel’s impressive two-bedroom 170sqm Presidential Suite offers the ultimate experience in comfort and luxury. Located on the 16th floor, it affords easy access to the hotel’s exclusive Executive Club lounge.

The hotel offers 23 specially designed Grand Deluxe category rooms with wider entry doors, showers with seats and handrails, emergency cords and low level writing desks. These rooms are designed to cater specifically for elderly guests and guests with special needs and limited mobility.

    Wining & Dining

There is a remarkable variety of Asian and Western cuisine available at the Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside. Aficionados of fine dining are well served by the recently refurbished Eurasian Grill. This dinner-only restaurant offers imaginative and creative dishes on both the a la carte and set menus. The wine selection is equally compelling.

The Terrace@72 offers a choice of air-conditioned indoor and alfresco riverside terrace all-day dining. The always-popular buffet dinner embraces favorite Asian and western cuisine with an Indian cuisine corner and a BBQ grill for fish and fresh meats. This restaurant is famed in particular for its Sunday brunch.

The adjacent Waves restaurant combines buffet lunch and dinner with an extensive à la carte menu. At Ah Yat Forum, one of Bangkok’s most famous and popular Chinese restaurants, guests enjoy authentic Cantonese delicacies prepared by Master Chefs from Hong Kong. The Thai Pavilion Lobby Lounge and Sala Thai Pool Bar offer hot and cold drinks, light meals and snacks throughout the day.

This is an impressive hotel that has weathered storms over the past 30 years, displaying remarkable resilience in the face of the many challenges confronting Thailand’s tourism industry. It is also a hotel that continues to blossom in the city’s MICE sector with so many corporate and private clients selecting the Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside for weddings, conferences, gala dinners, and product launches.

The 22 function rooms are fully equipped and cater for every business and social event and the two spacious ballrooms together accommodate up to 1,000 guests in banquet style. The stand-alone Menam Seminar & Convention Hall, which seats up to 600 guests theatre-style, is also popular choice for social and business events. Importantly, every event is hosted in line with the Wyndham Hotel Group’s Green Meetings Concept, minimising impact upon the local environment.

The hotel’s third floor Massira Wellness & Spa offers a tempting range of massage, beauty, and wellness treatments for local and international guests. The spa employs experienced therapists that judge the best treatment for your specific needs, ranging from a basic foot massage to the specialist Massira Ritual – Journey on the Golden River treatment package that extends for a totally relaxing three hours 30 minutes. The spa’s Jet Lag Recovery massage treatment, lasting two hours, is always popular with guests arriving after a tiring long-haul flight.

What is the secret of this hotel’s amazing success over the past 30 years? “It is a combination of factors,” says General Manager Klaus Sennik. “Our hotel has generated a deserved reputation for quality of service and value for money with caring and attentive staff.”

“We have always kept pace with the changing demands and travel trends of our local and international guests. We understand that while different nationalities look for different type of experiences they all expect to receive the highest standards of Thai hospitality when they come to Bangkok. We now have 30 years of experience in providing these standards at every touch-point in our hotel.

“We have also worked hard to promote our position on the Chao Phraya riverside,” he adds. “There is something about a busy river in a major city that captures the imagination of hotel guests. Our guests enjoy the opportunity to watch life go by on the Chao Phraya River while relaxing in the comfort and luxury of a quality hotel.”

    Getting there
