    Unclutter for Charity

It’s a proven fact! Clutter and disorganization has become a serious problem. So why be a packrat and waste precious space with unused kitchenware, unwanted decorative items, party dresses, seconds and overruns, and the like?

Remove the clutter, the excess, and the stuff you don’t need and convert this into cash and have fun doing it! Join the NewsMakers’ “10th Clutter Sale for Charity” on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 10am to 5pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel (formerly The Four Seasons Bangkok). Proceeds will benefit Chulalongkorn Hospital’s ‘Genetic Cancer Research Centre’ under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross in conjunction with the Care for Cancer Charity Fun Run.

The NewsMakers, a group of charity-minded creative-thinking individuals in media, advertising, public relations and interior design, brought the idea of a new concept flea markets to Thailand having held a fascination for them either as students or when traveling overseas. This new concept “garage sale” featured new and slightly used items. Since its inception in 2006, the event has raised almost five million baht for charity, and has become a much-awaited fun occasion for both vendors and shoppers alike so much so that the initial 40 tables have risen to 70.

The goods sold are primarily second-hand items but in almost new condition donated and/or sold by VIPs, celebrities and the expat community. Past events have seen primarily unused or nearly-new good-quality second-hand items – international brand-name goods, fashion accessories, jewellery, antiques and vintage clothes, small appliances, decorative items, sports equipment, novelty items, gadgets and gizmos, even the occasional vehicle. Companies donated their overruns while fashion houses sold slightly-used catwalk outfits.

Vendors with personal clutter are required to make a donation of Bht 2,500 per table while semi-business vendors’ donation per table is Bht 3,500.

Also awaiting shoppers is a Lucky Draw for a chance to win amazing prizes such as five-star dinner vouchers, wines, personal care products, etc. Tickets are priced at Bht 50 each.

The NewsMakers also welcome donations in kind for the Charity Corner and as consolation prizes for the Lucky Draw. Donations of nearly-new branded goods will be sold at the Designers’ Corner. For further details, please email Khun Annabelle Daokaew at anniedaokaew@yahoo.com or call 088 995 6956.
