Fine Tuscan wines by renowned Italian winemaker Castello Banfi will be showcased during an intimate evening at Coco Spice on Friday 26th February 2016, accompanied by a 5-course set menu creatively paired by new executive chef Mr. Franz J. Estermann. Each premium wine will be introduced by Guillaume Blanchard, Wine Ambassador for Castello Banfi, including the outstanding Brunello di Montalcino 2010, rated 93 points in Wine Spectator.
This special occasion marks the first wine dinner to be held at the recently re-branded five-star resort along Chaweng Noi Beach as well as the first opportunity for guests to sample signature dishes created by Chef Estermann. The evening begins with a pre-dinner cocktail on the Coco Spice terrace and antipasti course featuring premium Italian cold cuts, Pecorino, marinated vegetables and olives, paired with the Banfi Chianti Classico 2011. A second course of Mediterranean seafood soup, enhanced with garden herbs and saffron pistils is matched with the Banfi Le Rime Pinot Grigio 2014, followed by Duck breast ragout and foie gras with the Banfi Belnero 2011.
The highlight of the evening is the main course of Australian Angus Beef Fillet Mignon with vintage balsamic glaze, porcini mushrooms and semolina gnocchi, alongside the highly anticipated Banfi Brunello di Montalcino 2010. The evening ends with a dessert of Pistachio Panna Cotta paired with the Banfi Rosa Regale Brachetto 2014 and coffee or tea with Friandise.
