    Pang Sida Butterfly Watching Festival
    What: Pang Sida Sida National Park is home to over 400 butterfly species. Within two kilometers of the entrance is an area where hundreds of butterflies congregate in certain seasons. This festival celebrates these species. Visitors can start in the morning at about 9 a.m. and go to the Tourist Service Office area, where the butterflies roam freely. Then they can move on to the Pang Sida Waterfall for more butterfly-watching.

    What: Thailand is a shopper’s paradise, and this annual shopping extravaganza is a reaffirmation.     Asarnha Bucha Day
    What: Asarnha Bucha Day is a Buddhist holiday commemorating the first sermon given by the Buddha concerning the Noble Truths presented to his first five disciples. The sermon set in motion the “Wheel of Dhamma,” which is the meaning of Dhammachaka.

    Khao Phansa Buddhist Lent Day
    What: “Khao Phansa” is the first day after the full moon of the eighth lunar month. It marks the beginning of the three-month Buddhist Lent, when monks are required to remain in one particular place or wat (temple). The “rains retreat” — a merit-making tradition — is known as “Phansa” in Thai. Khao Phansa means to remain in one place during the rainy season.

    Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2015
    What: The music festival does not only offer a platform for homegrown jazz talents but also injects more interest among travelers to visit Hua Hin. The annual event usually invites an international line-up of top jazz artists to perform at the festival.

    International Wax Sculpture and Candle Procession Festival
    What: The Candle Festival of Ubon Ratchathani province features a procession of ornately carved traditional beeswax candles of various shapes and sizes. Buddhism, Buddhist traditions, and beliefs are central forces that shape the local way of life.

    Phuket's Kathu Culture Street Festival
    What: The event showcases the cultural heritage of one of Phuket’s oldest and most vibrant communities, including the island’s previous main economic activity, tin mining. The festival will feature a light-and-sound show, selling booths and exhibitions, handicrafts, and local food.

    Long-tail Boat Race Cup
    What: Long-tail boats racing in Chainat, first organized in 2006, has become an annual event with participants from all over Thailand. The Boat Races are held for three days followed by an important religious ceremony of the province, the offering of a huge saffron robe to cover the highly revered shrine at Wat Phra Barommathad built during the early Ayutthaya period.

    Pattaya International Marathon
    What: One of the most popular of marathons in Thailand, the “Pattaya International Marathon” attracts a field of contestants from all over the world. Each July, runners from a multitude of countries compete in three races: a full marathon (42 Km), a half marathon (21 Km), and a quarter marathon (10 Km).

    Rambutan Fair
    What: The first rambutan tree was planted in Surat Thani in 1926. Since then, it has grown abundamtly in the kingdom. This fair celebrates the delicious fruit. Highlights include exhibitions of local products and ornamental plants, floats adorned with rambutan and other fruits, and demonstrations of trained monkeys who harvest coconuts.
