Mode Sathorn Bangkok makes sure that every aspect of the guest’s experience is attuned with today’s vibes and values.

Most hotels boasts of friendly service, but Mode Hotel — says hotel manager Roland Aung – wants to be your friend. And indeed, while the new hotel on Sathorn Road is positioning itself as the city’s first “fashionable lifestyle hotel,” it is the friendliness of the staff that one will remember first when reminiscing their stay at the hotel.

03-MSH Exterior_Night with LogoOf course, the “hardware” of Mode Sathorn is impressive. The overall ambience is classy and in-vogue, and the hotel offers all the flexibility and flair that modern urban lifestyles require. From the contemporary building design to the chic interiors, from the trendy facilities to the high-tech mod cons and amenities, this hotel will certainly attract the young sophisticated, tech savvy travelers who are plugged in the wired world of today. But let’s face it: all modern hotels try to do the same thing.

Mode Sathorn may indeed look a notch hipper than some new design-oriented hotels mushrooming around Bangkok, but in the end, every hotel is judged – even if subjectively — by its “software”: the guest service it provides. And this is why Mode Sathorn stands out.

“Our guest experience is exceptionally immersive,” says Roland, who epitomizes the very friendliness of the hotel team. “From the rooms, which are fashionably and indulgently appointed to the restaurants, bar and spa, which revolve around original concepts. We make sure that every aspect of the guest experience, from the design to the services and amenities, are uniquely in-tune with the vibes and values of today’s guests.”

The hotel, which had a soft-run since May, has 201 rooms and suites that are ready to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travelers. The hotels appeals equally to both male and female guests, with its rich use of purple and pink, especially in the exterior, sending a strong signal to women that the hotel is on the same wavelength with them as it is with male guests.

Rice and Chilli 02_LowThere are five categories of rooms: Business Suites, Deluxe (with four designs), Executive, One-Bed Room, and Presidential Suite. No room has the same design, making it perfect for frequent and repeat travelers who want to stay in the same hotel but want to enjoy a different room experience each time. My room, a corner Executive Suite, enjoys a mesmerizing view of the city’s CBD and part of the Chao Phraya River.

In line with the concept of immersive experience (and probably keeping in mind the tough competition in the capital too), the hotel didn’t take for granted the design and concepts of its F&B outlets. The all-day dining venue on the 10th floor, The Sathorn, was designed to reflect the rich history of the district with almost every design element symbolizing something.

MSH - Pool BarRice and Chili on the 5th floor, a contemporary Thai restaurant, serves a sumptuous Thai-Franco selection: authentic Thai in flavor, deliberately French in flair and presentation. Theatre Bar, on the 11th floor, is a thoroughly funky venue that should be discovered by the city’s discerning hipster crowd. Even BLD bistro on the Ground Floor, has those French accents: from its design to its signature food and drinks. There’s a pool bar on the 11th floor that must be the most “chillax” place this side of Sathorn (infinity edge pool with a view). Coming soon is the soon-to-be completed Rooftop Bar on 38th floor.

For guests whose main criteria for choosing a hotel is location, they’re in luck. Mode Sathorn is not only located in Sathorn, the city’s CBD and considered as Bangkok’s most elite and most easily accessible boulevard; it sits just right at the very doorstep of the Surasak BTS station, making mobility a breeze.

Oh, a tip: Try the Thai Yoga Massage that their Burisud Spa is offering (you can enjoy it in the privacy of your room or by the poolside). It’s simply one of the most relaxing, most recharging massages I have ever had in Bangkok, and I’ve done a lot of them.

Indeed, simplistically speaking, even the most-savvy traveler will find something to enjoy at Mode Sathorn. And they haven’t even had a grand opening yet. Think what more they will be able to offer once the hotel is truly, fully operational.
