    Haute Cuisine from the Black Forest in Southern Germany on display at Vertigo Restaurant, Banyan Tree Bangkok.

    Bangkok, 22 February 2013 – H.E. Dr. Ingo Winkelmann (from left), Deputy Head of Mission and Permanent Observer to ESCAP at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, recently presided over the launch event “Haute Cuisine from the Black Forest Gourmet Heaven”, the Chef Showcase from the Traube Tonbach Hotel in Germany. Hosted by Ms. Nopparat Aumpa (5th, from left), General Manager of Banyan Tree Bangkok in cooperation with JAGOTA and FIN wines at Vertigo Restaurant.

    This exclusive nine-day promotion begins from 21 February until 1 March 2013. Chef Florian Stolte, Head Chef and his culinary team at the decorated Traube Tonbach Hotel in Southern Germany, the holder of 3-Michelin starred restaurant and one of the renowned top ten addresses in Europe to dine, will showcase epicurean delights from the hideaway in the midst of the German Black Forest. The team returns to Banyan Tree Bangkok and invites guests to discover the treasures prepared by German’s leading culinary experts, exclusively at Vertigo Restaurant.

    Choose to dine from three-course set dinner or four-course set dinner menu which features appetizer such as Medallions of Maine Lobster, Cauliflower and Lobster Sauce and main course Tranche of US Angus Beef Strip Loin, Roasted Goose Liver, Celery Puree and Truffle Sauce and dessert Delice of Guanuja Chocolate, Passion Fruit, Sour Cream Ice. A vegetarian four-course set dinner is also available.

    Prices start from THB 2,700++ per person excluding wine and THB 3,800 with wine pairing for each course.

    About Chef Florian Stolte

    Chef Florian Stolte began his career at the Hotel Traube Tonbach in 2002 until 2008 as Demi Chef de Partie before moving to leading restaurants in Europe such as “Restaurant KochArt” in Austria, “Restaurant Vila Joya in Portugal” and “Restaurant Attisholz” in Switzerland as a Chef de Partie. He returned to the Hotel Traube Tonbach in year 2011 as a Sous-Chef for the Kohlerstube and Bauernstube Restaurants and became the Head Chef the following year.

    With a 200-guest capacity, Vertigo, located on the rooftop of the 61-storey Banyan Tree Bangkok, comes alive at sunset for nocturnal festivity in full view of the Thai capital.
