Affectionately known as “New York’s Jazz Diva,” Pucci Amanda Jhones takes to the stage of Bangkok’s premiere jazz venue, The Living Room, for a much anticipated residency until Jan. 27. Jhones has a well-deserved reputation among the jazz cognoscenti for her highly original voice, which has been heard from Manhattan to LA, Las Vegas, Switzerland, Japan, and Kuala Lumpur. In her native New York City, Pucci has performed at renowned jazz venues, Birdland, Blue Note, and the Lenox Lounge. Her latest CD, “Wild is the Wind,” features inspired takes of 12 timeless jazz standards, all enriched by the inimitable Pucci’s touch. During her residency she will perform with the Randy Cannon Group, described as “a pianist of formidable gifts, and consistently galvanizing rhythmic sensitivity” by jazz critic Leonard Feather of the Los Angeles Times.
